The fourth of this 5 week course is called 'The Age of Reason' and looks at Art as propaganda versus the expression of truth.
We meet at 8pm
Looking at images of Christ and the role of art in the history of the Church. This series of five evening presentations will be informal and open to all who have an interest in art and in looking at the story of Christ through the eyes of someone who has been exploring this for many years.
Barry Dunnage, who writes on film and theatre, will lead a series of informal evenings exploring images of Christ and the role of art in the history of the church as well as looking at how artists have chosen to portray the story over the ages and the tensions that have arisen. Barry writes on film and theatre as well as teaching graphic art and design in colleges and has been head of design for several organisations including the Labour Party. He still practices as a designer in London whilst writing on music, the arts and media.
We plan to run the evenings as informally as possible so please bring along any friends with an interest in art, and the story of Christ, to look at the story through the eyes of a someone who has been exploring this over many years.
No admission charge.
